やっと彼女（かのじょ）から手紙（てがみ）が届いた（とどく）
At last [Finally] I got a letter from her.
小包（こづつみ）はきのう届いた
The parcel arrived [came, ╳reached] yesterday.
あのときは本当（ほんと）に恐ろしかった（おそろしかった）
I was very frightened [very scared, really terrified] at that time.
昨夜（ゆうべ）見た劇（げき）はつまらなかった
The play I saw last night was dull [boring].
つまらない 1 【おもしろくない】 uninteresting;dull;boring.
彼（かれ）はつまらないことを気に（きに）しすぎる
He worries too much about unimportant [little, trivial, trifling] things.｟米話｠He sweats the small stuff too much.

2 【取るに足らない】 【重要でない】unimportant, insignificant;【ささいな】trivial, ｟書｠ trifling;【価値のない】worthless;【愚かな】silly.
くだらない事（こと）を心配（しんぱい）するな
Don’t talk nonsense [｟話｠ rubbish].Don’t be foolish.
くだらない 1 【価値のない】 worthless;【くず同様の】trashy;【取るに足りない】trivial;【役に立たない】useless.
くだらない質問（しつもん）
a stupid question.
くだらない 2 【ばかげた】 foolish;stupid.
あける 【明ける】
1 【夜が】 【日が出る】break*;【白み始める】dawn. （⇨明けても暮れても）
夜（よる）が明けた
(The) day [(The) morning, (The) dawn] broke [has broken]. (!(1) ╳Night broke. とはいわない. (2) 日常会話では It’s morning. (朝だ)や Morning has come [is here]. (朝がきた)のようにいう方が普通 )
2 【年が】
私は年が明けたらすぐにその仕事に取りかかるつもりだ
I’ll get to the work as soon as the new year begins [at the beginning of the new year].
3 【終わる】
梅雨が明けた
The rainy season is [╳was] over.
交通（こうつう）の混雑（こんざつ）を緩和（かんわ）する
ease [relieve] traffic congestion / ease [relieve] a traffic jam. (!後の方が口語的)
こんざつ 【混雑】 〖交通などの〗congestion;〖ぎゅうぎゅう詰め〗a jam;〖人などの殺到〗a rush;〖押し合い〗a [the] crush.
